Chambertin-Clos de Bèze GC - 2007 -- Domaine Pierre Gelin - Bourgogne - (75cl)
Bourgogne red
Presentation of the wine
We are here in one of the 9 Grands Crus of Gevrey-Chambertin, in the heart of the magic of Burgundy. The Clos de Bèze covers less than 15 hectares of perfect terroir or almost: moderate slope for good drainage, exposure to the rising, soil rich in mineral salts, ventilation from the north.
The domaine Gelin has 60 ares of pinot noir in this closed, for a production of 1,800 bottles per year. The wine is aged around 20 months in very new oak barrels.
This Grand Cru is the kind of wine on which it is possible to dissect hours, aligning qualities almost indecently. This Clos de Bèze is fine and powerful, firm and delicate. A multitude of scents jostle over the years: vanilla, liquorice, truffle, musk and many red or black fruits. Not to mention a beautiful mineral presence and an elegant finish. Is it worth mentioning that this wine is of great care?
note :
really very beautiful, but only on night two... med plus bodied, had a balance between high tone and roundness, with a muddling of mostly fruit and a little spice, also some surfboard wax / sandalwood, really nice but again took night two to bring this out... therefore I would say that ten years is a good time to try the next bottle
