The Summertime vintage of the Pommery house is a Blanc de Blancs champagne, that is to say only composed of Chardonnay.

Made from an assemblage of 10 selected wines from different terroirs of Champagne, the Summertime is a champagne with a lively nose.

This blend of different terroirs offers a complex champagne, highlighting the different facets of the same grape, the Chardonnay.

Fresh and fruity, the Summertime vintage is an unusual and ideal way to discover the Pommery style.

The summertime vintage of the Pommery house has a golden color with bright almond-green reflections.

On the nose, it is a bright Champagne, with delicate aromas of acacia and lime.

Its mouth is tender and fruity with a long aromatic persistence, relieved with lively freshness.

It was in 1836 that the future Pommery house was founded by Narcisse Greno. Twenty years later, he is joined by Mr. Pommery. And it is following the premature death of the latter that will really begin the saga Pommery. It was his wife, Jeanne-Alexandrine Louise Melin, who took over the management in 1858.

In a few years, she will profoundly transform and modernize the house Pommery. Under her leadership, sales are multiplied, and Mrs. Pommery undertakes ambitious work to build Elizabethan style buildings, on what was then only a wasteland.

In 1870 began the gigantic work to build a field of English architecture that should remind its customers, largely British, their native country. The construction site is immense, it is necessary to drill underground tunnels in order to connect between them the approximately 120 chalkboards which truffle the ground. A network of 18 kilometers of chalk galleries was born, dug by miners that the house Pommery brought from the north of France.

But Ms. Pommery's other stroke of genius was to automate her cellars. She had a rail system installed in the galleries to hang wicker baskets to transport the bottles quickly and easily.

As a tribute to this great lady of Champagne, the house created a superb vintage: La Cuvée Louise.

In 2002, the company Vranken Monopole integrates Maison Pommery into its Group.
