Description

5 hectare estate in Saint Sauveur, in the heart of Médoc, producing 30,000 bottles of AOC Haut-Médoc in an artisanal way. The Leroy family has owned Château Barateau, Cru Bourgeois in Saint Laurent since the early 1990s. Patrick Leroy seized in 2004 the opportunity to develop his passion for wine, art and horses by acquiring Château Mascard in 2004 from the Noël family.

The vineyard is located on a ridge of Garonne gravel in Saint Laurent, not far from the famous Camensac and La Tour Carnet. The Château and the cellars are located in a small green paradise at Domaine Bel Air in Saint Sauveur. A receptive activity has been developed there with the construction of cottages, yurts and the provision of guest rooms.

Grape variety: 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon
Maturing 100% in stainless steel vats for 16 months

The 2005 vintage, the nose will transport you with its fruitiness of rare elegance and its woody notes. The palate is full-bodied, fleshy and full of character. You will find aromas of toasted hazelnuts due to the good maturity of the harvest, but also notes of almost too ripe strawberries and vanilla to finish on a very harmonious finish.
