Prestige box of 2 bottles of wine from the Morgon region

2009 is a great vintage in Morgon in particular. It produced beautiful, ripe grapes and an abundant harvest.

Some of these areas can improve between 10 and 20 years

Located in the south of Beaujolais, Morgon is one of the most renowned crus in the region, producing elegant and powerful red wines based on Gamay.

Characteristics of Morgon wines:

Color: Deep ruby color with purple reflections.

Aromas: Complex and expressive nose, dominated by red and black fruits (cherry, blackcurrant, plum), often accompanied by spices (black pepper, cinnamon), floral notes (violet) and a mineral touch.

Mouth: Full-bodied and fleshy wine, with a beautiful tannin structure and lively acidity which gives it a welcome freshness. The flavors echo the aromas of the nose, evolving towards notes of leather, truffle and tobacco with age.

Morgon Styles:

Young: Young, fruity and delicious Morgons are best enjoyed fresh (12-15°C) within 2 to 3 years following the vintage. They go perfectly with cold meats, grilled meats, pizzas and salads.

Aged: With age, Morgons develop remarkable aromatic complexity and an aging potential of 10 years or more. The tannins soften and the notes evolve towards prune, leather and truffle. These wines pair wonderfully with roasted red meats, game and mature cheeses.

Some famous places:

Côte du Py: Recognized for its powerful and structured wines.

Les Charmes: Expresses elegant fruity and floral aromas.

Douby: Produces ample and delicious wines.

Corcelette: Produced on granite soils, produces mineral and complex wines.

Morgon is a wine to absolutely discover for lovers of elegant and expressive red wines. Its diversity of styles offers a wide range of choices, delighting all palates.

Tasting tips:

Serve Morgon at a temperature of 12 to 15°C for young wines and 16 to 18°C for older wines.

Decant the aged Morgons to allow them to open up and fully express their aromas.

Don’t hesitate to taste Morgon with different dishes to discover its multiple facets.
