Located north-west of the appellation, Château de Sales is the largest estate in Pomerol (48 hectares) and one of the most beautiful, with its 17th century Charterhouse and sumptuous gardens. The wine belongs to the same family for more than five centuries, with a new governance in 2018: Marine Treppoz in the Presidency, while Vincent Montigaud assures the general direction. Merlot, 70% present in the grape variety, is supplemented by 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc, on sandy-gravelly soil with a subsoil of iron grime.

All efforts are made to develop a large Pomerol: reasoned cultivation, controlled yields, manual harvesting and specific breeding, barely 6 months in barrels of which only 5% new, to preserve the freshness of the fruit of a wooded considered often useless by the owner. Hence a fleshy and juicy nectar that can be tasted in his early years.
