History of Château la Conseillante:
The vine is worked manually. Vinification is carried out in stainless steel vats with heat exchangers, respecting the specificities of the various plots (a new cellar with 22 vats is planned to further improve this plot approach). The aging is carried out for 16 to 18 months in oak barrels (80 to 100% new depending on the vintage). The final blend is subject to strict choices to guarantee the high level of quality of the 1st wine.
The wine had experienced an eclipse until 1980 to then give a dazzling series. Power, volume, aromatic richness, harmony and finesse come up in the tasting comments year after year and particularly, after the marvelous 2005, in 2008, 2009 and 2010. The length in the mouth is exceptional. The aging potential can reach 30 years or more.
In its best years, the wine ranks at the very top of the Pomerol hierarchy. Unfortunately its price, always very substantial, tends to follow.
