Château Calon-Ségur 3ème Cru Classé 1989 (75cl)
Château Calon-Ségur 3ème Grand Cru classé 1989 (75cl)
This 3rd Classified Growth produces great wines emblematic of their appellation under the direction of director Laurent Dufau, with the technical support of Vincent Millet, formerly of Château Margaux. The 50 hectares of vines are planted on a beautiful terroir of sandy clay, with 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, the rest in Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. As for the heart on the label, it is the work of the owner of the time, Nicolas-Alexandre de Ségur (18th century), who wanted to illustrate his love for the raw.
Under the benevolent gaze of consulting oenologist Eric Boissenot, Calon-Segur signs wines with a classic style: pure and precise fruit, tight tannins, density and ultimate distinction. Their aging ability is remarkable.
The estate produces a second wine, Marquis de Calon, an excellent deal in Saint-Estèphe.
