Laphroaig 10 years old is a pure malt whiskey from the distant Islay Island in the Western Isles of Scotland. Laphroaig is a significant Gaelic word "the beautiful cave of the vast bay". In the manufacture of Laphroaig, malted barley is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, found only on the island of Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavor.

Laphroaig 10 years of age should be enjoyed preferably dry, or with a little water. Let the flavors of whiskey spread in your mouth. Unleash the bitter, earthy aroma of peat smoke, the small nutty taste of barley, the delicate heather scent of Islay's brooks. It is as unique as the island itself.

ISLAY

Located south of the island of Jura, Islay is a region in its own right and a unique place in the world of whiskey. Swept by sea spray, it is covered over a quarter of its area of ​​peat bogs. This island, sunnier than average, also has fertile land suitable for growing barley. The distilleries have adapted to these climatic and geological conditions. Peat was adopted to dry the malt. As for the marine character, it is clearly in the style of its whiskeys. There are currently 8 distilleries on the island: Ardbeg, Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Bunnahabhain, Caol Ila, Lagavulin, Laphroaig and Kilchoman. Islay whiskeys are famous for their dry, peaty side, but each distillery has its own style.
