YAMAZAKI: where it all started in 1923. Worthy pioneer of Japanese single malts, Yamazaki celebrates subtlety, complexity and refinement.

Founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, the founder of Suntory, YAMAZAKI is the first and oldest distillery in Japan. Inspired by traditional Scottish whiskey, Torii's vision was to stand out from the start by choosing a soil and climate completely different from those of Scotland to create a new type of whiskey. Thus Yamazaki was the cradle of Japanese Whiskey.

Yamazaki has given its name to a Japanese single malt that offers a surprising, delicate and intense experience at a time. Deep and complex whiskey, rich in multiple aromas that embody the signature Suntory, it is acclaimed by connoisseurs around the world. Single malt number 1 in Japan, Yamazaki is appreciated in more than 25 countries around the world.

Maturation in sherry casks.

Tasting notes:

Color: Copper gold with bronze highlights.

Nose: Frank and precise, it evokes Sherry with notes of prune, nuts and raisins. Fruit paste (strawberry, fig). At aeration it is more spicy (cinnamon, black pepper) and medicinal (arnica).

Palate: Supple on the attack, it becomes rich and concentrated on the Sherry (grilled hazelnut, almond, bitter cocoa). True basket of dried fruits: raisins, dates. It becomes more woody and slightly bitter on burnt oak and cachou.

Finish: Very clean and very persistent, on the coffee bean, soot and dark chocolate.
