Château Giscours, formerly the noble house of “Guyscoutz”, stands in the heart of the Margaux appellation. There, the gravelly lands of Pyrenean and Garonne origin give their letters of nobility to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The history of the property is tumultuous, and after being sold as national property after the French Revolution, the property was purchased in the late 1840s by Jean Pierre Pescatore. The Château is at the same time elevated to the third growth rand classified among the Médoc crus. The wines experienced a certain influence with Pierre Tari in the 70s. The latter then forever signed the spirit of the Château: voluminous and enveloping materials, enabled by significant maturities. Under the leadership of Alexander Van Beek, the dynamic of the Château is certain and adapts to climatic changes: Merlot, which tends to over-ripe, gradually disappears in favor of Cabernet Sauvignon. The latter now makes up 75% of the final assembly.
