Oban is de oudste en kleinste van de zes 'Classic Malts' (een serie die ook Glenkinchie, Dalwhinnie, Cragganmore, Talisker en Lagavulin omvat).

Proefnotities:

Jurk: Olive Gold

Neus: rijke zoetheid, fruitige sinaasappel, citroen, peer, met zoute tonen en turfrook.

Smaak: herfstvruchten, gedroogde vijgen, zoete specerijen, honing. Gerookte en moutige aanrakingen.

Afdronk: lang, zoet en zoet met een smaak van droge en zoute eik.

Maaltijden: Gecombineerd met pittige Italiaanse worstjes, haggis, spaghetti, steak
