De Smokehead High Voltage geeft aan dat we hier met een vrij uitzonderlijke Islay te maken hebben. Gebotteld aan 'navy strength' is dit een sterke whisky op 57%ABV. Een whisky die bekend staat om zijn intense turfsmaak. Het aroma laat daar ook geen twijfel over bestaan, dit is een geur die je direct herkent. Aroma's van zeelucht, havermout, vanille en toffee tegen. De smaak is een beetje vettig, zacht en romig met tonen van noten, citrus en zilte zeelucht. In de afdronk tintelt heerlijk op de tong.
